I just downloaded version 0.5.1.0 and when I started up a game the screen was black. The music still played, I could see the circles of selected units and the menu button was still there, just no map or units. Any way of fixing this problem?

What video card and what video card driver version are you using? If you are using Nvidia drivers since June 25th, they contain a major bug and you need to reduce the graphic settings (turn them to low in the main menu or edit Documents/Achron/configuration.ini and set NumLightSources=2). Nvidia is aware of the bug. Other than that, please make sure your driversare up to date.

Can you tell us what exactly was the problem and how you fixed it?

In game, only the circles of units and menu buttons appeared, nothing else.
Fixed by setting graphics settings to low.

Okay, so typical bug. If you want higher graphics settings, set them to high, exit Achron, go into $USER\Documents\Achron\, open configuration.ini, and set NumLightSources=2. That will also fix it.
